Porter and Sentinel 04-12-2008 : Tom G., Snow Nymph and I drove up the the saddle below the Porter Mine to complete a hike to Porter Peak and then traverse a long ridge and summit Sentinel Peak. When I did this last year we dropped down into Panamint City to camp. This time we traversed back and out for a long 13.5 hour hike which included going back over Porter Peak a second time. Ranboze, Trail Trekker and Chip(Cougee) started later than us - there goal was Porter Peak and then south to Morman Peak and out. I wish I could spend more time in the Panamints hiking and exploring. So many trip alternates planned each time I come up here. After the hike I drove home so I could get ready to meet some friends to hike Cross-Chuckwalla the next day - didn't get home this night until midnight.

Saturday night was highlighted with birthday celebration for Tom G. Sunday we all drove over to Ashford Mine Rd. and hiked up to Ashford Peak and then checked out the Ashford Mines. Great way to spend an Easter weekend.

Magic Mountain 03-08-2008 : Saturday 03-08-2008; Sierra Gator, Nordic Lass and I met Ron and Kenny at the Red Rock Park to climb and scramble. The peaks are not too high but lots of great scrambling with class 2 and 3. This is my first experience with the red rock limestone - it sure feels different than hiking on granite. We got two peaks in - Magic Mountain and Crabby Appleton. Great weather and good friends made for a perfect day.

Pyramid Peak 02-16-2008 : Saturday Feb 16, 2008; Rachel and I met Sierra Gator and did a hike to Pyramid Peak. Pyramid is the tallest peak in the Funeral range and offers some fantastic views in all directions. It was a great day for photos with many variaties of wild flowers blooming.

Brown Peak 01-12-2008 : Saturday morning 01-12-2008; we had camped at the abondon trailer park arriving late on Friday. Saturday morning had coffee and said hi to Rachel before she left to go work. Snow Nymph, Trail Trekker, Kathy M. and I hiked Brown Peak from near Deadman's Pass. This makes the second time I have been able to put Brown on Brown - last time being the Sierra version.

Schwaub Peak 1-1-2008 : New Year's Day 01-01-2008; Rachel and I met Sierra Gator at Echo Canyon turnoff. Nordic Lass was supposed to hike with us but she got sick. We climbed Schwaub peak and Gator surprised us with a couple of micro bottles of champagne on the summit. Not sure if this was wise for such crumbly ridgeline but we made it down ok. Nice way to ring in the new year

Eagle Mountain 1-13-2008 : Sunday 01-13-2008; Snow Nypmh, Trail Trekker, Kathy M. and I met and climbed Eagle Mountain. Eagle has a nice small class III ridge along the top with sharp sticky rock along its canyon walls. The views of Death Valley and Nevada mountains is stunning. I would definately come back and do this again.

Pk 8841 : Snow Nymph, Tom G., Jim and I set out Saturday morning to bag Pk8841; Tom G. promised his wife he would be back for a church dinner so we parted with him a little before noon. Jim followed up till about 500 vertical feet from the summit. Snow Nymph and I enjoyed a great weather on the summit. We elected not to go tag Pk.8744 so we would not get separated. Everyone had a great day on the mountain.

Telescope Peak from Shorty's Well 10-06-2007 : hiking from Shorty's Well in Death Valley to Telescope Peak - a hike of over 11,000ft of gain. successful bagging of this peak put me at 25 weeks in a row of hiking to 10,000 ft or above. this hike represents the largest hike for elevation gain you can do in the U.S. for a single peak.we had 10 in our group and everybody summited - average pace was 1,000ft per hour. this was an ODC event and leader Donnie did a great job

Keynot Peak(x2) 5-19-2007 : SnowNymph, Trailtrekker, Cinammon Girl and Tomcat hiked Keynot Peak(11,101ft) via Union Wash in the Inyo Mountains - it was my 2nd summit and a first for all the gals. coming down Union Wash is one of the best scree bombs in California - dropping nearly 2000ft in a matter of minutes. noted also various wildflowers in bloom. although slightly hazy a great day to be in the mountains.
